A Bit About Her

She's a Texas gal, the third of eight children, and crushes spiders on site. She loves the country and prefers the AC pointed at her face.

A Bit About Him

He's a California boy, raised as a single child, and traps spiders to release them back outside. He loves the city and prefers the AC pointed at his feet.

A Bit About Them

They met in August of 2014 at a mutual friend's house in Redding, CA. She was doing laundry dressed in Star Wars PJ's and an old VBS shirt. He was dressed to the nines in a button-down, vest, and tie. It took him 10 minutes to get her name right. They ran into each other a couple more times when she got the feeling that he liked her. Not being one for games, she took him out to dinner and asked him point-blank. To which he responded without hesitation that yes, he did indeed have a crush on her. She explained that she was a bit old fashioned and liked to take things slow. She suggested that they stay friends for the time being. They spent the next six months hanging out in groups, meeting for the occasional lunch, and finally, the last two months, spending almost every day together. She wouldn't let him ask her out before her birthday as she felt that it was unfair to put that pressure on him. So he asked her out the day after. Now, February 14th, 15th, and 16th, they celebrate what they lovingly refer to as their Valenbirthaversary. Over the years, they have moved from California to Washington to Colorado and driven 150,000 miles all over. Most frequently from Washington to Texas and always finding a reason to stop in San Francisco. They spend most of their day's binge-watching sitcoms, trying to stay on top of dishes, and laughing at their bunnies, Halpert and Beesly. They enjoy art in any form and love to challenge each other to be the best version of themselves.

February of 2017, they went to San Francisco, their favorite city, to celebrate their Valenbirthaversary. With the Golden Gate Bridge and the entire city as the backdrop, he got down on one knee and asked her to make forever official. That pretty much brings you up to date! Leaving out, of course, some great stories like losing a trashcan in Oregon and Devan's first Whataburger experience when meeting the family, but those are for another time...
